Some times it's hard to remember that youäre on the other side of the world. Of course. Having a slightly rearranged keyboard is certainly a helpful reminder. Grrr. Ä='

The idea of travel is kind of abstract for me. Out here in the woods, in a town most Swedish people don't even know exists, and where most things are going on you your native language it is easy to forget that iäm in a different country. And half way across the planet at that.

Sometimes I can't shake things Truman-like paranoia, that when I travel to abroad, I just get on a StarTours like box, sit in a seat with no view. And basically get in a shaky room for 10 hours while the people on the ground frantically rearrange everything to look like another country. On the other side of the world.

It's weird because I know about 10 people here. People who I see a few times every week from dancing. Weäre In the woods, that although beautiful, has flora similar to that of Montana.

On the way here I didnät even see Stockholm from a distance. It was a woodland drive the whole way. Not even passing through any towns. I guess you could say Im getting the 'real Swedish experience' . but the thing is the 'real Swedish experience' doesn't mean much unless you have the knock down in-your-face cliché Swedish experience. I want pleasant looking chubby blond blue eyed people laughing and saying 'yaw' wearing blue and yellow, eating fish, meatballs and candied fish. Then iäll take this natural living in the woods of Sweden. '

So yes, I canät wait to see Stockholm. But I learned that 1.5 million out of sweden's 9 million population lives in Stockholm, and has never heard of this town. So at least im comforted in the fact like the Swedes, canät be bothered with the 'real Swedish experience' either.
