Im staying in the home of a swedish family, a man and wife with two sons. one about 16, the other maybe 19. theyäre not too thrilled to have isabelle, my 40-year old Parisian roommate and i staying in their beds.
theyäre around during the day, fixing their dirt bikes and watching the OC, and some reality tv shows from the states that i have never heard of. but today i struck up a conversation with the older boys and got the younger one to crack a smile, so i guess things are going well.
as far as children go, there is a Swiss family here a the camp, not the one I'm staying with. A few nights ago the 14 year old swiss son ate an my table. we talked global environmental politics and other such topics.
i couldnät believe he was only 14, i haven't had as intelligent of conversations with most 30 year olds. he was so flipping polite and well spoken. a very impressive young man with a name a cant pronounce and a dog named count bessie.
ps, the not-being-able-tp-pronounce-names thing is becoming a problem.
well my timer just rang so im off.
i want my kinds to grow up in switzerland...is that wrong?
