The sun is starting to rise in the sky and we are off into the forest of Chitwan National Park in search of the white rhino, and hoping to possibly catch a rare glimpse of a tiger. We are listening out for the slightest sound and set off through the bush when we hear a rustling in the distance. The thick undergrowth makes the route tricky, but luckily we were on the back of a 12ft Indian elephant who tramples on trees or rips them out with his trunk. The power, agility and luckily the obedience of 'Shiva Hari' to the mahoot was astounding.
We tracked the rhino for 2 hours and managed to get a number of sightings within just a few feet of us. The view of their body armour so close up was brilliant. The closest we got to the tiger however was a 20 day old foot print. After the morning stroll it was time for a shower - down at the river with the elephants!
Not satisfied with being thrown off the elephant into the river, we then took a couple of days white water rafting down the Trisuli River. Our guide Dill got too much enjoyment from capsizing the raft at every opportunity!

Asian Adventures!
Binghams!
We salute your treking travails, your crocodile capers, your brickie bravado, and your elephant exploits! Good to see that you're both looking very well and clearly having a great time. Keep up the good ambassadioral activities and remember to always have your Ferraro Rochers to hand (its what every good ambassador always serves)!!
Take care
Its your anniversary (nearly!!)
Hi guys,
Wow its sounds like you are having an amazing time and the photos are fantastic. Can't believe that 2 years ago you were parading down the aisle and showing off your dancing skills to everyone :)
Before i forget, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY :)
Our plans for our wedding and trip to New Zealand are coming along well. We have even just finished tasting a bottle of champagne with Ness and Mark in preparation for the wedding. It was rather good, and nice and cheap :)We even managed a stroll along the river for 2 hours walking from Wetherby to Tadcaster this afternoon and introduced Ness and Mark to their local pub.
Have fun & TC
