When did I ever think this holiday was a good idea? It has dawned on me that I must be bloody mad.... most people settle for a quiet fortnight - a break from the running around - some time chilling at home with the kids etc., etc. But what possessed me to feel it was going to be fun taking the three Herbert's round-the-world on my own!!! I may look back on this day in years to come and think how great it was..... but at this present moment in time I feel like it wasn't such a clever idea!
I have managed to assemble clothes for the boys, but now have a case crisis. The cases that were great for a week in Kos are sadly lacking for 3 weeks in Oz & NZ. Andy to the rescue!!! Eagerly awaiting new supplies tomorrow afternoon!!
My clothes are now in my case too and it shuts OK!! I have plonked the case on the scales and note that I am still 3kg off my limit. However, I have yet to pack toiletries, medical stuff and reading material. Can that weigh 3kg? Lets hope not or the kids might be dragging some of it along in their cases! G, P & J are all tucked up in their beds - I'm now quietly updating this with a bottle of Sol beer in my hand. A final few moments of calm before the frenzy that is to come! Still have a hundred and one things to renumber.... but checked through a few worries with Joanna when I spoke to her earlier this evening. I'm looking forward to landing in Wellington more than I am doing the Australia thing. I have confirmed that there is a nail-bar in Wellington - so that's one worry off my mind. I had been stressing that my nails won't last 3 weeks without some work being done!!!! (Oh simple pleasures!) I'm also looking forward to that latte that has been a year in the waiting... oh I'm getting a bit emotional. Enough of that!!! It was good to talk over a few things with her and confirm what we are going to do with our week in the North Island. I hope the kids all get along as they used to and I hope mine behave themselves!!!
