July 1, 2010

We drove from Parnu to Tallinn this morning. The drive was pretty well in a straight line and flat as a pancake. It was only one lane in each direction most of the way, but everyone shared the road, and moved over when someone was coming straight at you, so no worries.

We managed to thread our way right through Tallinn and out the other side to a parking lot type campground along the waterfront. No view from the campground, but it has nice clean WC and showers.

We bussed in to downtown Tllinn mid afternoon, and just got back at 8:30 this evening. Tallinn is a regular city as you enter and exit… office buildings, hotels, busses, trams and shopping centres, but its core is an absolute jewel of an "old town" with many renaissance era buildings, cobbled roads, churches, walls and towers. It was very crowded at mid afternoon, but had eased off by the evening. We have only got a taste so far, so will have more entries on Tallinn to come.

No picture of the Kickindekok (?) Tower in the old town?
By the way--Happy Canada Day. Your weather looks better than ours, but now they say we'll get the good stuff next week. We'll see.
Any luck with the dog?
