Where I stayed
Vista Sol Apartments
We get all that at Vista Sol, plus free cable TV, so we invested in a pawn shop set since we hadn't brought one along. It's odd to have cable after a few years without any TV at all and nine years prior to that with just one fuzzy channel. The Oprah Show is my guilty pleasure, and "Meteorologist Paul" can check the local temperature whenever he wants on The Weather Channel. We cancelled Netflix for the duration.
Both of us love shopping for and preparing meals in our little kitchen! We also love being out of the hubbub of the city, shadowed by a mountain across the street and bordered by an arroyo behind our property. The landscape here is desert/mountain with lots of blue sky.
El Paso is "The Sun City" and combats my typical "winter blues" nicely. The night cityscape is a bowl of jewel lights from here. Yet we're in the city and can walk to a post office, Dollar General, convenience stores, even my favorite women's retail chain: Chicos.
