It's 4:00 AM on October 5th and we are both wide awake (it's 11:00 in Paris), so we decided it's time to knock out the final entry.

Well, we're home. Neither of us are very excited about it, but we are taking solace in sleeping in our own bed, sinking into our own couches, and wearing different clothes than we've been donning the past 9 weeks. Mundane concerns are beginning to replace those of finding a place to stay for the night and deciphering train schedules. While I could (in typical fashion) launch into hyperbole and melodrama about our utter anguish over ending the trip, I'll instead give you a quick summary and some "favorites" lists.

On this trip we went to the following countries: England, Scotland, Wales, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Monaco, Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Italy, San Marino, France.

Our top three favorite countries visited on this trip:

2)United Kingdom

3)Tied between Portugal and the United Kingdom (I told Sara that she isn't allowed to have ties, but she insisted that she can...I lost the fight).

Our top three favorite cities visited on this trip:

1)Tie (I know, I know) between Paris and London
2)San Sebastian
3)Tie (this is getting ridiculous) between Salzburg and Munich

Our favorite activities/sights on this trip (limited to things that anyone could see or do, so we won't list things like having dinner with the Poortens in Rome or our lengthy conversations with hostel roommates):

1)The musical "We Will Rock You" with the music of Queen in London
2)Driving a Porsche Carrera on the Autobahn in Germany
3)EuroDisney in Paris
4)Salt Mine tour in Salzburg
5)Normandy Beach Tour outside of Caen, France
6)Fat Tire Bike Tour in Berlin
7)Seeing the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona
8)Driving through the English/Scottish country side
9)The musical "Guys and Dolls" starring Ewan McGregor in London
10)The Dachau Concentration Camp outside of Munich

1)The musical "We Will Rock You" with the music of Queen in London
2)EuroDisney in Paris
3)Salt Mine Tour in Salzburg
4)Heineken Museum in Amsterdam (that's my girl!)
5)Aquarium in Lisbon
6)Mike's Bike tour in Munich
7)Picnic on the Champ de Mars in front of the Eiffel Tower
8)The musical "Guys and Dolls" starring Ewan McGregor in London
9)Normandy Beach Tour outside of Caen, France
10)Yes, you guessed it...another tie. The scenic boat ride across Lake Lucerne in Switzerland and visiting the Corrie ten Boom house in Harlaam, the Netherlands

But if you've made it this far, then it is to you that this last bit is dedicated. This travel website has allowed us to share our trip with you, but it has also allowed us to receive your posts, comments, and emails. We honestly couldn't wait to hit the local internet cafe just to check the website to see who had written us. 1,000 website hits in two months is a surprising and humbling figure. We are blessed to have such wonderful friends and family who care about us. Thank you for being a part of this trip.

Thus ends the trip of a lifetime. We will leave you with pictures of the Eiffel Tower at night, shimmering in all of its glory. Enjoy!

Until next time...
