Driving a Porsche on the Autobahn
Visiting a bombed out church
Trip to Prague
If you were to ask me, before we left for this trip around Europe, what I was looking forward to the most, I would have told you driving a Porsche on the Autobahn. I am now a complete man. We woke up this morning, headed to Avis Rental Company (the only place where one can rent a Porsche), and hopped in a beautiful, silver, six speed manual, 911 Carrera
It was rather anti-climactic, but we followed that adrenaline rush with a trip to a bombed out cathedral that had been left in the same condition as it was immediately after WWII. The German governmant has left the cathedral standing as a testament to the atrocities of war and it now is located in the middle of Berlin's biggest shopping center. We then headed to Checkpoint Charlie (the main gate between East and West Berlin prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall). The museum there told the tales of daring East Berliners and their dangerous (but very creative) attempts at escape.
We headed to Prague, Czech Republic
Trip to a cathedral made of human bones
Trip to Theresianstadt (the Jewish Paradise Ghetto)...another concentration camp
Until next time...
