The lesser visited island state of Tasmania is a real beauty, would remind you a lot of back home, rolling hills, "fresh" weather and grumpy traffic wardens.
No really the people are fantastic and will go out of their way to run you over, i mean help you :-)
First port of call was Launceston, where the first person we met was originally from Ballymena hey, needless to say he DIDN'T buy us a drink, but at least he had heard of Carrick. We hiked up a magnificent gorge and generally got close to nature in Launnie. We had to do something to tire ourselves out as the hsotel was one of the worst we have stayed in........GRIM. It looked like one of those places on the programme "start a new life in another country............. but you haven't got a clue what you are doing"
Bogging, freezing and at night you could hear the mice running along the boards, eek eek
We hightailed it out of there and headed to Hobart, the state capital. Now this is more like it, a nice relaxed vibe, amazing historic buildings and a nice comfy hostel. There was a lot to see in Hobie due to it being the 2nd oldest ozzie city and we just loved dandering round taking it all in.
Oops what was i saying about quiet hostels, the big night of the week in Karaoke night in the bar, directly under our wee pillows ARGHHhhhh!!! Well there's an old saying, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. So before you could say get out of yer jammies and put on yer white jumpsuit.................."could we have Phil Moon onto the stage please"
After a king number I moved on to my aussie portfolio ah huh huh.
Next stop: back to sydney, yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
