Happy days!
Back to normality, well by South American standards anyway.
Boy are we glad to say goodbye to our creepy crawly friends. In Spanish they are called cucurachas and I couldn't stop singing that wee song we learned at school "La cucuracha la cucurachas la la la la la la la" or something like that. Yuk:-(
We got off to a great start, big queue at the booking desk for transfers from the airport and I says to yer man in Spanish "here mate any chance of a joe maxi to the hostel" says he to me "aye no sweat mucker, jump in" It was full steam ahead to the Casa Roja (the RED house) another good sign, i'm sure you'll agree :-)
The atmosphere was fantastic in this massive 18th century restored townhouse and we immediately agreed to chip in for the Christmas dinner, out the back of the hostel
Headed straight out, full of it.......adrenaline, and came across a wee cafe with a Liverpool scarf up on the wall. We had a quare laugh with the owner who had been to England 20 years ago and got the scarf as a souvo.
The city itself is a lot more orderly than anything we have seen so far in SudAmerica, it seems quite Americanised and shopping malls seem the order of the days. Oh great! loads of shoe shops for us to enjoy;-)
Christmas day (plan B) was estupendo. We were up early and with the appliance of science not only did we do an E.T. and phoned home.................we web-cammed as well wooooooo
I'm not too sure if Granny Moon knew exactly what was happening as I caught her on picking her willick! Oh no she was only scratching it, oh yeah
We managed to go super-continental and webcammed Julie's sister and mob in Italy ( I mean family not that MOB). Not exactly Sir Clive Sinclairs the call was a cross between "Norman Collier" and one of those BBC news men from the middle east, with loads of what, yes, what, can you hear me, what....
Now that we have had a few days to settle our Bangors and get both brain cells operating it time to hit the highway, south toward the lakes, volcanoes and ADVENTURE!
Next stop: Pucón
