Where I stayed
Too-koo-man,what a place!
The people here are the most friendly we have come across, they make Mr Smily and Mr Happy look postively miserable:-)
Even the taxi men let you know that they are taking a slightly longer route because of the one way system..........you wouldn't get that up the golden mile.
Tucuman is a really historic place.............home of the declaration of independence conspirators and where it was signed and, well, declared. We went to a light and sound show, where they had like a Radio 4 play, in the house where the conspirators discussed their plans. It was all very realistic and ended with all the locals giving an impromtu rendition of the national anthem
We also went for a wee day trip to a couple of picture-squeeeeee spots, great scenery in this neck of the woods.
It is like a lot of other northern Argentina towns where the siesta is enforced, for a few hours in the afternoon nothing moves, then as if by magic everything springs to life and lasts well into the wee small hours.
Everytime we crossed the road here we thought of the Oul Lammas Fair, because the sign to cross is a wee "yella-man"
We went to a wee bar/cafe place which I'm sure Moe's Tavern is modelled on:-) Full of headcase characters, basil Fawlty style service and all very cheap, rough and ready.
We loved here, favourite Argentinian place so far.
Next stop: Cordoba (inching our way to Buenos Aires)

Hi you two, really enjoyin reading about your adventures. Love the photos - it makes life here seem very dull. Loved the Butch and Sundance photo! Where are you off to next? Keep safe love John and Josie x
Wish You Were Ere --- Not
Hope you are enjoying the hot temps, no betty swollocks ere, can't even find them its that cold - prunes are us.
Reds not going so good, off to Besiktas on Tuesday - maybe you could take a quick flight the reds obviously are missing some shore road humour.
BTW Aussie trip has been confirmed, date of arrival is Brissie 1 July - Harry with coldie in hand - better be more than 1.
Keep the pics and funny stories coming and hopefully I will be sending you details of the reds marching on to Red Square - but for now MOSCOW.
