What was I thinking................a short journey??? It took us 6 hours to get here instead of 3!
The rickety bus was doing well until one of those vital components fell off.................. yip, the AXLE!!!!! Somehow the driver managed to get it fixed, we didn't ask how just clenched cheeks for the remainder of the journey. During the break down, myself, 3 English guys and a German had an impromtu football match on the roadside with a few locals, class.
The only problem is EVERYTHING is covered in thick brown dust, it is absolutely everywhere. In fact Julie says I am full of it!!!!!!
Tupiza is a nice town, with a "is it half started or half finished" look. The locals were preparing for a forthcoming street festival, which seem to happen all the time over here, so we sat in the town square chatting to some of the local space cadets that we seem to attract.
Had a lovely pizza and scuttled off to the hostal to try and get the dust washed off.
Next stop: Potosi, highest city in the world (4200m above sea level)
