The city of almost 12 million people, surrounded by mountains and skirted with beautiful beaches. It is an absolute kaleidescope of colour, the people are every shape, size and all with smily faces.
We managed to fill our time easy-peasy..........Sugar Loaf, Cristo Redentor, Copacabana beach, Ipanema beach, Botafogo (now better known as Portavogie) and of course a trip to the Maracană futebol stadium. It's no wonder the Carioca's call it the Cidade maraviloho - the magnificent city.
In the words of the man with the wee nose, we spent a fair bit of time, down at the Copa.......... Copacabana.

A few Brazillian inventions are the flip-flop, bikini and believe it or not spongy toilet seats:-) (it's like sitting on a whoopee cushion). Although one invention which doesn't seem to have made it here yet is the bra! In the words of my old science teacher ''you'll have someones eye out with that"
Grub and grog are all very reasonable. Most of the eating houses are weigh and pay, thankfully it is the plate that you pop on the scales and not yours truly.
We will be sad to leave Rio as it is a really nice place and the people are extremely friendly.
We'll finish with the words of that other great songster, Jackie Full-of-himself, We're in Brazil NOT Norn Iron.
But don't cry for us..................it' Argentina (next stop)
