Towards the end of our trip Toby and I decided to travel up to some of the smaller islands in the north of Tonga.
Firstly it was pretty cool that we arrived to find that we were being driven in a really tiny plane and the pilot was a guy called steve who was an aussie guy who lived on our road in Tonga and had taken us on his boat a couple of times. The guy is pretty crazy to be honest and swears every other word and i cant really believe any one puts their lives in his hands, but we did and we went. First day we hired some bikes to cycle to a remote beach, it was really beautiful, perfect beach and clear sea, (you know the drill), unfortunately it was not beautiful for very long! I had been experiencing some rather dodgy stomach problems after experimenting with some tongan cuisine and had to take a rather sudden dump in a secluded spot. It wasnt pretty! I then used the free hats that we got from our sponsor to wipe and tobys free hat to cover up the mess! Nice... Anyway we ended up having a really good day, this guy came over to us on his dingy and said we could use his boat for the day to chill out and snorkel round the boat, what a legend, he even got his little tongan woman to make us cups of coffee and make us food! I'm not sure what she was doing there cos he went off to the town and left her there without a boat, slightly lonely but she seemed happy enough. It was a quality day and Larry (Verne) will be remembered...
The next day we decided to do a sailing tour to visit an even more remote island than the one we were on. When we got there it was basically like paradise, im hopefully gonna upload the photos to give you more of a picture tomorrow. We went snorkelling again and the coral was pretty spectacular and the fishes were pretty cool too. We were on the trip with some american guy who was a professional photographer and he said he was gonna send us his photos which were awesome so i will send them on. In return me and toby taught him most of the english swear words such as wanker and cunt which he was most impressed with. Little fact for the day, Captain Cook arrived in Vava'u in 1777 and spent 2 months travelling round. Apparantly it has the best anchorage in the South Pacific... Love you all lots...Much more action hopefully to come tomorrow...
