The Land of Milk and Honey...

After the ungodly conditions at the Paris airport Israel does indeed seem like the land of milk and honey. At least my bed did last night. I arrived in Jerusalem about 1:30am Monday morning and was dropped at my hotel just inside Jaffa gate of the Old City.

After unpacking and taking a much needed shower - in a 1x1 shower stall - I hit the sack.

It was surreal to wake up in Jerusalem - The Holiest of cities (maybe because I slept only 5 hours). After a nice breakfast of eggs, cheese, bread and some sort of meat I walked up to the top floor terrace. From there I could see the Temple Mount. I thought of all the history and all the people that have passed this place and the impact it has made. All of a sudden I realize how much bigger this place really is - I am not talking geography.

I will wonder around for a while and explore (one of my favorite things to do) - today I am a tourist...

I wish I was with you
Mike,
Isn't it neat to be there where it really happened? Unfortunatly, I was there on the most violent month of the last decade and we were not allowed to go to Jerusalem! I loved every part of my time there. I can honestly say it was the best month of my life, and the hottest. Have a great time and take some time just to talk to the average person on the street, or on the beach. You will even get a chance to practice your Russian language.
Talk to you soon,
Rob
