Travel tip number one from Mike....

Don't wash your passport in the washing machine 4 days before leaving the country. That happened to me. Yesterday was a typical day; I was studying for a final and taking a short break for lunch. When I got home Kristen informed me that my passport went through the wash. Let's just say I lost my 'sanctification' for about 45 minutes. I went into panic mode.

Now let me say I am pretty good in panic mode, however you don't want to be around me (as Eric Weaver will testify). I had to reschedule my final (which I was already taking early), contact the passport agency (luckily there is one in Denver) to see if I could get my reissued. Oh, did I mention that we were planning on driving to KY the next day?

Ok so to make a long story very short...I was able to pick up my newly minted passport literally as we left the metropolitan Denver area for a short trip east....
