Picking Janet (Spencers mum) up from the airport didn't go quite to plan. I went to give Janet a kiss and knocked a full cup of coffee out of Spencers hand all over her white jumper and blouse. I cant believe Janet laughed. Just got of the plane after a long flight and had hot coffee thrown all over her and she laughed!!! I didn't know what to do so i laughed to, Spencer stood in disbelief while we both fell about laughing. Not a good start!
It was great to have Janet visit and i don't think Spencer realised how much he missed his mum until she arrived.
The first night we sat up getting more drunk by the minute until we eventually we went to bed about 4.00.
It turned out to be a great start to the holiday. Janet loved Rottnest Island, especially the Quokas which we saw. We also went to Perth, visited relatives in Bunbury and went to the zoo. But the best day for all of us had to be the Wine Tour.
We had a great day tasting the cheese, chocolate and of course the wine and by the end of the day we were all a bit worse for wear.
I think Janet had a good time and enjoyed Perth. It was a nice change for her as laid back WA is very different from the hectic Gold Coast where she was to spend the rest of her holiday.
Saying goodbye was sad but we know Janet had a good time and it was lovely for us to see her- especially as I kept the coffee at bay on the return to the airport!!

After all of our visits we didn't really have too much time left in Perth. We decided to leave our jobs and get new ones working in the day in a factory. We thought that we would be able to make the most of the time we had left by having our evenings and weekends free. Well that part was true. We had some lovely days out in the city, at the beach and in the casino.
However the new job was hell. We ended up both getting jobs in a factory. We were packing and weighing bacon and salami in a giant fridge!!! Never again!!
We only had to stick it out for a few weeks as it was soon time to move out of our apartment. We had a few nights in the van at our old haunt North Quay and then it was time to say goodbye to Western Australia and back into Trouty and on the road.......
