Slow Bus
Entry 40 of 106 | show all | print this entry |
We had another lazy morning, and once again had a bit breakfast out. After breakfast we had to quickly check something on the Internet, and where then accused of using two computers when we had only paid for one. We had only used one, but the Internet Cafe owner would not back down and got rather angry at us, we refused to pay for the other one though.
We then had a lazy walk around town stopping for a coffee and some delicious Portugese tarts. Finally it was time to head towards our bus, so we picked up our bags and walked over the Bus station.
We then got on a very painful bus journey to Seville. I reckon the journey was not even 200km, but took a very jerky 6 hours. We seemed to stop at bus stations every 10 minutes and most of them meant a slow drive into the town, and then back out the same way.
Finally we arrived in the charming southern Spanish town of Seville at 20:30. We then got a map from the information office at the bus station (we didn't want to rely on the Lonely Planet map). It took us a very hot hour to walk into town and find a hostel with a room for us. There is surprisingly little English spoken by Seville locals, but luckily our Spanish learnt on our South American trip came back to us enough to help us out.
We had some home made cheese sandwiches for dinner, before heading out to one of the local bars for a drink along one of the narrow cobbled lanes.
