Our bus pulled into Antalya at 7am. While getting our bags I rudely ignored someone offering me accommodation before finally noticing he had my name on a piece of paper and was actually our transfer to our Pension.
This time the transfer was worthwhile as it was a 20 minute ride to our Pension in the heart of the old town. We first grabbed a couple hours of sleep before heading out to explore. We found a lovely park looking out over the clear blue water and ate some fruit for breakfast.
Everyone we have spoken to has been telling us that we should rather go to Olympos than Antalya before our cruise and I was growing rather skeptical of Megans insistence that we go to Antalya. But it didn't take long for me to fall in love with Antalya. The mountains dropping down to the amazing blue water and the charming cobbled streets of the old town. The upside for us of the bomb the previous week meant that all the tourists had left Antalya and we had the town pretty much to ourselves. After browsing the markets we went for a relaxing boat trip around the bay.
We spent the afternoon lazing on the beach - swimming in the sea for the first time since leaving Australýa. The guy at our Pensýon told us that we were very lucky that today was a cool day. It was 36 degrees!
For dinner we had to go out to the restaurant that was the whole reason we had come to Antalya. Megan had gone to it 5 years ago when she traveled here and wanted to go there with me. So after a bit of searching we found it and splurged on an expensive dinner (for Turkish standards but only really about 30 pounds) while watching the sun setting over the Marina. It was very special.
