Sight Seeing Istanbul
Entry 3 of 106 | show all | print this entry |
We lazily got out of bed at around 8:30am and made our way to the roof terrace of our hotel for a breakfast of cucumber tomato and a boiled egg.
It was another clear totally cloudless day with the temperature a lot warmer than yesterday. We spent the morning viewing the main Istanbul sights of the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, and the Sunken Palace Cistern. Fýnally on Megans insistence we went to the Grand Bazaar, the famous covered market offering everything either Turkýsh of fake.
After an exhausting couple hours of bargaining we made our way back outside and sat down for a Kebab. After eating, the intense heat of the afternoon sun drove us back into our hotel room for a siesta. Still struggling to recover from the lack of sleep of our final week in London, it was after 5pm before we emerged again. We took a walk down to travel agent to organise the next leg of our trip. Going against everything we believe in the, travel agent convinced us to pre book a whole chunk of our transport, accommodation and tours.
Needing a drink we bought some beers and went up to the terrace of our Hotel where we watched an amazing sunset while taking plenty photos of the Blue Mosque.
The darkness meant it was food time again, and for dinner we found a very authentic restaurant were we tried some weird local cuisine. We then retired for another early night.
