After the houseboat we drove down to Calgary. We stayed in a cowboy hotel.
The second day we were in Calgary we went to a stampede. To get to the stampede we had to go on a train which was on the road. The stampede(which is a huge rodeo event) was AMAZING first we saw ....................... which is where a cowboy jumps on a calf and trys to tie it up as fast as he can.
The next event was bare back riding which was where a wild horse was let into the ring with a cowboy on it and the cowboy had to stay on for 8 seconds.
Then came the cowgirls!!! with the barrel racing. The cowgirls had to go round 3 spread out barrels as fast as they could the winning time was 17.21 seconds.
After the cowgirls we saw the bull riding this was probably the best bit! again the cowboy on the bull had to try and stay on the bull for 8 seconds. Each winner of the event got a $100,000 check.
At the end of the morning rodeo we went on some rides one of them was so scary it went upside down and sometimes it stopped upside down. Another ride was where you had to lie down.We went on some others which where also fun and scary.
In the evening show we saw some chuck wagon racing, each chuck wagon had 4 horses pulling it and one man steering. After the racing we saw a BIG show with fireworks and balls of fire.We got back to the hotel very late and all of us got to sleep very quickly.
