I promised photos of the business class seats I've been riding in and now here ya go.  The first seat (that isn't that impressive) is the normal, old style business class seat that I usually upgrade to on the way to South America or Europe.  The second set of photos is the US-Australia plane that gets lie-flat seats.  Delta is supposed to be upgrading all of their business class seats to these.  It is a big improvement, but it's not as cool as the "suites" that some of the asian and middle eastern airlines have.  I was happy to have the extra room and a plug for my stuff (especially since I needed to recharge my headphone's battery in-flight).  A warning though, make sure you've got everything out of your pockets.  Since I was laying flat, everything fell out of my shirt and pants pockets!  That doesn't happen on the normal seats...

In the Sydney airport (Terminal 3), I had a really good roll up from Sahara (really really good) and then stopped off in the Virgin Lounge thanks to my Priority Pass, unfortunately I couldn't get connected to their interweb.

Once in Wagga Wagga, I was given a Holden Commodore....which I've never driven one before.  But thankfully it was an automatic so I didn't have to try to remember how to shift with the left hand again.  It is a really nice drive down the Snowy Mountains Highway.  And if you were wondering, I was already pretty well set on Australia time when we landed since I slept well on the plane.  So don't worry about me being too tired to drive.

I am trying a different hotel here this time, and this is a NICE room here.  Much more bright and airy when compared to the Ashton I had stayed at before here.

In other much more exciting news....Jacqui sent me a link about a team of people that need some teammates for the Mongol Rally 2010.  You know your wife loves you when she encourages you to take a wild 40+ day roadtrip from Europe to Inner Mongolia!  I was so excited when I started reading through about it.  Now I just have to wait to see if I can join the team.  Now to give you an idea...the plan is to drive a 1.0L car from the UK, through France, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and into Mongolia on the way to Ulaan Baatar.  If that doesn't sound like an adventure...then you don't have a pulse!

More pressing at the moment is figuring out what I'm doing for the next few weeks.  I'm finished with the job here in Australia already...the job I was supposed to go back to in Brazil was changed and I'm not going there anymore...but there might be another job for me to go to in Brazil.  And if that falls through, there is the possibility I could stay in Australia to supervise part of the shut down work at this mill.  But then I'll need to find SOMEthing to do in Australia to pass the next week.  I'm sure I can think of something ;)

Abandon the Cube on

Those are pretty snazzy looking seats! I can't say I've ever been lucky enough to sit in one. They look like they are definitely worth it. Talk to you soon.
