So the great thing about being on vacation is that you can sleep in and not feel guilty.

We all slept in, today especially, then got up and put on nicer clothes than we'd been wearing so far. As we had reservations in the "Grand Ball Room" for a Turkey Day Feast. An all you can eat buffet of anything and everything you might find around a family Thanksgiving day table and then more... at least at our table typically. Great start to a great day, we came back to the room and watched some T-day football, napping and spending time together.  After the Turkey potions wore off Cathy and the two youngest took a tour in the pool, while Caleb and I finished watching the game and waited for the room maintenance people to come.  Our heater/air conditioner stopped working... fairly efficient actually, they came, simply pulled the old one out of the wall and replaced it with a brand new one, turned it on and then left.  Minimal "client" inconvenience...

As the sun set, we put on all of our warmest gear and went to the top of the hill to await the "big show".  4 big bonfires and a long table covered with hot cocoa and cookies waited for us.  While standing around the fires they had Christmas music playing throughout the grounds on speakers and everyone drank hot liquid, visited, and sank along with the songs.  Then when we were sufficiently chilled, the music stopped and we counted down from ten and as the lights came on all over the resort grounds the bright lights were followed by a fireworks show!

The kids were very surprised.  Following the very nice fireworks, the man of the hour himself was lowered from the roof of a nearby building... Santa Claus!!

Santa worked his way through the crowd, greeting his biggest fans and the smallest, and handed out candy canes as he moved his way towards the Grand Hall where he would spend a bit of time meeting with children.

Well to say the least, we're even more tired tonight than we've been previously this week.  Well earned I say... a good end to a great day!  Thanksgiving comes every year, but it's a rare opportunity where we get to slow down enough to truly remember why and what it is we are thankful for.  I thank the Lord for all that I have as he has blessed my family and I, so incredibly.  Thank God for his gifts and may God bless this amazing country we all have the priviledge to live in!!
