We'll I'm mostly over my "sandwich" episode and we've all gotten up early this morning to load ourselves into vans and head into the city.  I managed to get a glass of milk and an untoasted piece of white bread down my gullet.

Arriving at the Secure building where our formal Kick Off meeting was arranged we've been screened through security and are now meeting our peers who are part of the State Department and VA.

Eight hours later and a group lunch of Papa Johns (see the USG isn't wasting our tax money.. lol!)  We've all presented our materials, made introductions and this deal is live.

Heading out for dinner our group celebrates what is to be a great adventure.  While having sushi, we get a call from our new client and are told that they were very impressed with our plan, our team, and our energy.  For those that don't know, this kind of building project has never been awarded to a lead construction company from outside the US.  So not only are we setting new ground on "who" is working this project, but VBL's "how" is also creating history.  The folks at the state department are very, very happy to hear of our company and the exciting technology and process we are adding to their new building.  "The possibilities moving forward are numerous and should be even more exciting," I was told by one of their project leads... very cool!  He was impressed and excited, something that is energizing to see in a client you just met.

(anyone wondering why I have such a lack of pictures the last several posts?
Well that's because of the secure nature, timing and true lack of "extra" time we've had this week.  Can't believe I made it all the way to our nations capital for my first time and I didn't even see a monument... not even from the air!  Pout... pout....)
