Short entry. Visited Culloden Battlefield - the sight where Scotland lost their last fight for independence in the 18th century. Signs are not the most self-explanatory (all information assumes you know about the fight for independence etc etc) A guide would be good to have or read up on it on the web before you go.
Day was very brisk and chilly due to strong winds blowing even though the sun was out. It's a huge field/land where they fought, almost similar to Battle field, where they fought the Battle of Hastings (1066) but given the significance of it all, there are of course stones to remember the Scottish clan members who died there as well as the Jacobites.
The place felt calm, and I was rewarded with a rainbow that disappeared by the time others showed up in the late evening.
