Yippee!  I heard from our bikers around 12:30 today.  They were in Harrisville getting ready to eat.  It's looking like they have traveled 150miles so far!  It sounds like they have lots of pictures to share but unfortunately they were all taken on Emily's camera and she doesn't have her cable with her to transfer the pictures to the computer. :(

Here's what Alexis had to say-

Yesterday we kept trying to find an appropriate and/or decent place to stay and just had to keep going and going until we finally found a house around 7pm and asked the owners if we could camp on their lawn.  What luck!  We met Mary Jane and Jack Buckingham who have seven children and 22 grandchildren.  Apparently their family visits often and they have built a bunkhouse on their property for them Our Saviors
Our Saviors
.  The Buckinghams offered us their bunkhouse!!!  They were such sweet people.  I climbed the ladder to the loft and had a REAL AIR MATTRESS!!  Dave and Emily slept downstairs on REAL FUTONS!!  WE HAD SHOWERS!!!  WE EVEN HAD SOAP!!!! GLORIOUS, MAGNIFICENT SOAP!!!!!  WE HAD HEAT!!  IT WAS ABSOLUTELY LUXURIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had tuna noodle for dinner and it made me think of our cat, Gertie, because tuna was one of her favorite foods.  Madre told me yesterday that Gertie finally had to be put to sleep since her cancer had gotten so bad.  Gertie was my Grammie Cormier's cat so she was pretty special to us, plus she'd been around pretty much ever since I could remember.  I think she was 15 years old.

Emily did laundry in the sink and now her clothes are drying on the tandem while we eat.  Speaking of laundry.  I wore a shirt all one day, slept in it, wore it again the next day and when I tried to take it off last night, it literally was stuck to me and a little stiff.  Did I tell you we had showers????????  We really were in the middle of nowhere and could not check in last night because there wasn't any cell service.

We had a million lunches yesterday The Bunkhouse
The Bunkhouse
.  It seems like all we do is pedal and eat.  We practically drained a ½ gallon of OJ at one of our stops.  We are currently in Harrisville to get more food:  Turkey slices, Fluff (marshmallow crème), lots of fruit, PB and honey.

Madre tells me we are out of the 'green zone'.   When you go to http://maps.google.com/
It automatically pulls up a map the the United States.  The green zone in New York State is so big you can see it there - WE GOT THROUGH IT.  WOO HOO!  I almost cried when she told me that.  We all yelled and jumped up and down!!  Now that we are out of the Adirondacks this is going to seem like a piece of cake.

We are hoping to make it to Watertown tonight and hope to check in again.  We should have cell service the rest of the way

Naz, here we come!
