We got started around 9:45 today. The woods where we stayed was great! It was soooooo beautiful and peaceful and I'm still amazed by the fungi. I slept better last night but I still woke up a few times because it was so cold. We heard it was supposed to get down into the 30's and I sure felt like it did. Brrrrrr.
We are currently in Tupper Lake shopping for lots of food. We've heard there won't be any place to stay for at least 30 miles so we're stocking up for all our lunches, dinner and breakfast (groan, more weight). Between the hills and the constant headwinds we've had, it doesn't appear likely we'll make 30 miles on top of what we've already done today. We've actually had a few downhills today but again, the wind is just not working with us!
We're pushing ourselves hard but still in good spirits. Thanks to those of you who posted comments or signed the guestbook on this site. Madre has been reading them to me each day and I actually got to read one or two myself yesterday when we were at a Library.
Oh, Jade -- I saw one short bus yesterday.

good grief i ache all over just reading about all the hard peddling you're having to do...i know even tho' it's hard going that you'd still be having a fantastic time...i on the other hand prefer bikes with engines....BIG engines *chuckles*...keep up the great spirit...i'm sooooo proud of you..y'all stay safe and take good care of each other
