Well Philadelphia was a little bit of a surprise. University of Arts, The Kimmel Center for Performing Arts.... Very quaint little City, and a lot of history, and at one stage the capital city of the United States until Washington took over.
The city's got a city hall, and a couple of other halls, a residence for the president at the time, and a huge bell ..... that the town folk rang when any fuctions took place. Unfortunately it cracked .... and now is significant as the bell of Liberty. There is a harbour front, with some exquisite views of the city.
The US Mint is also situated here, but was closed when we got there so we did not see where the dosh is made. The highlight of the city was the Penn ...... Or short for state Penitentiary. This is amazing ... it's just like the movies , prison break in the 1930's, closed after they had a break-out, a master minded plan that 'prison break' definitely adapted their plot from.
We only spent one night in Philadelphia, and left the next day for Atlantic City, the mini Las Vegas of the east coast.
