In Napoli, when boys meets girl, heres what they say.... When the moon hits your eyes like a big pizza pie thats Amore!!!
Sorry....
I left Rome with a Mcflurry in my hand, arrived in naples, got the train after the hassle of asking for a ticket to a metro station i couldnt pronounce. Got off at the station and walked the wrong way for an hour.
After a few Miscusies and where is piazza san ciros i made it to the hostel. Great hostel called Fabric Hostel, was an old fabric factory. New place with a few computers, beds with personal lamp! and most importantly big tv with endless simpsons, friends, seinfield, family guy and on the last night, angel fest. The only thing that sucked about the place was the showers with the see through doors and the crazy guy who wouldnt stop singing acdc.
The hostel is not in the heart of naples but in an outerlying suburb. I havent done anything here.
First day, arrived, sat on the net, watched simpson in italian until i realised you could change the dubbing to english.
Second day, slept in till midday, went to pompei. Not as good as people say. Espescially after going to egypt. It was just walls. There were dead bodies there which i couldnt find because my audio guide i payed 10 bucks for was so boring. It just played stupid sound effects for whips and the making of steel and the narrator just said, "here is the bakery!, in it they made, cheese, bread, toast, meat, cheese..... etc.." I think i just spent my time in pompei listening to the audio guide.
The next day it rained something fierce all day. I slept in half the day, the rest i just watched tv. The a team was on! Plus the simpsons halloween specials. Halloween was pretty big here in italy. All the kids getting into it. The place has a club that all the locals go to attached to it. I walked in wearing an old shirt, dirty pants and thongs. I felt out of place amongst all the well dressed italians and i wasnt going to pay 10 bucks for a drink so i left.
I stayed an extra day when i bumped into a guy called dan who was in the hostel in rome. He said it was raining. So i stayed. I went to the heart of naples. Not as dodgy as people say. Walked around, freezed my testis off. I dont have adequate winter clothing. Came back and watched more tv.
Every single night i have had a magheritta pizza from a place called pizza oasis. 3 euros. People say its the best in naples, which i guess makes it the best in the world. 4 days in a row i ate it. By the last night i didnt even have to ask.
When i left i bought a usa today paper. Apparrently there have been all these gang killings in napoli the past few days and they are sending the army in and stuff. This kiwi guy i was talking to in florence was scared to go there. I had no idea when i was walking around. Just goes to show what you read in the news is BS.
I didnt do anything in naples. Havent really walked around. Havent met any wacky locals. Just watched tv and ate pizza, and gotten back into angel again. Cant wait to get home and purchase angel on dvd.
