Taxi dropped us off at the border for Israel. Did some duty free shopping, trying to get souveneir notes and coins. I have so many notes and coins its ridicolous. Walked across to the border to the famous Israel. There were pictures of the king of Jordan and his dad everywhere at the border. Would have taken a pic but not allowed to take pics of border crossings.

Crossing into Israel, had to pay a little departure tax for Jordan. Security at Israel was understandbly very tight. There was 3 of us and it took a good 20 minutes to get through. The put ur bag through the scanner on everyside in and out. Then they check everything you pull out of your pockets, inside your wallet, your phone everything. You walk through, they get you to open your big backpack, you have to pull everything out. They unwrap everything, open every zipper, its crazy Then they do the same with your little backpack a. Just so you know i was there
a. Just so you know i was there
.

The thing was, the whole situation was hilarious. When i walk in there is this red head baker guy, making jokes about my arab coke can and robe. The other 2 people there were 2 young pretty security girls. Everyone there from Israel was in their early 20's, looking at my daggy undies.

Continued on, got to the stamping window. I had read and been told to ask for them to stamp a piece of paper and not your passport. As if they stamp your passport you cant get into Syria, Lebanon or any other Muslim country that doesnt recognise Israel. Also a young girl in her 20's said sorry and stamped it. So now i have the dreaded Israel stamp tainting my passport.

We got out and got another 20 year old Israel border girl to get us a taxi. We got the taxi to the border of egypt. 20 min drive. Bizarre to be in Israel, if only for a few hours or so.

Going into Israel is like stepping into a little America. Girls in short skirts everywhere, guys (including the taxi driver) trying to act cool, western signs, western music, western food b. Wierd Car
b. Wierd Car
. Like the twilight zone.

We got to the border, passports checked by another 20 something Israely girl. Got my bag pulled apart again, but not as thorough. Who cares your going to Egypt. Got a couple of Israeli coins as souveneirs.

I think the reason why the entry control people are so young and mainly girls is because everyone has to do their army time there. A couple i met in Vietnam said girls get to pick their profession in the army. Maybe they choose border patrol. Who knows...

Anyway next little entry is Egypt.
