Saranda.
After a packed bus ride, where people where made to get out of their seats for me, i arrived in Saranda. Intending to get to Greece somehow i was told the only bus was at 7 the next morning. I decided to catch the ferry to Corfu. This guy selling sandwiches walked with me for 10 minutes to make sure i got there ok. He didnt even want me to buy a sandwich. I needed to buy a ticket, and a albanian family minded my bag while i went searching for the ferry agency. They were closed so i went and got food and decided to not go to corfu as i am intending to go to the other islands instead. As i walked away i found a bus company that had an overnight bus. Chilled in Saranda for the day. A street kid selling stuff decided to start talking to me about soccer. He was telling me how his father got shot in the head which was disturbing. He didnt want to sell stuff to me, just the big tourist buses that came in. He blew up when they didnt buy anything and booted his can across the street.
Random local hotel owners asked me where i was from and made sure i knew where i was going. Albanians are just fantastic. It sucks that in a few years things will change. Even the people at the restuarant where i caught the night bus, made sure i got on the bus ok. On the bus to athens i got the whole back seat to sleep. There was no one on but a few albanians. Best sleep ever on the bus.
