Bosnia!

When people think of Bosnia they think of a dangerous place where there is a war going on. In reality the war is over and there is a population of beautiful girls that rivals Russia and Estonia.

Let me begin

I left split and got a 4 hour bus to Mostar in Bosnia. Good old Bosnians, they stamp your passport. You pass through the Croation passport patrol, it looks like the M5 motorway pay stations. They dont stamp, Bastards... After going through No-mans land you get to the Bosnian checkpoint. Its a little shed with a couple of guys. He gets on and he stamps it, champion. My view of a country is based on the passport guy. First impressions....

Get off the bus. Got a little bit hounded by people asking if i needed a room again. I heard that its because the countries around here are econimically not good and have to do it because they have to compete for the tourists. Crotia seems well off. Everyone looks loaded.

At the bus station i needed to use the bathroom. Back to squat toilets in public places. Not that i have ever used one properly! I didnt have small change so this tiny old guy who had this face like a pug walked off while i did my thing. I walked out and he was gone. I thought ive been scammed. IDIOT! I think his wife was still sitting there though But after 5 minutes he came back with a big smile on his face and gave me a big pat on the shoulder and said "Havla"!... thankyou.. first impressions...

Anyway, i had already reserved a room over the web. First time ever. I got lazy to walk because it was hot. I called up the lady and she was there before i could even opened the bag of crappy tasting potato chips i just bought. We should be thankfull back home for Smiths, Cheezels and Shapes. No one wears seat belts, so u feel cool for not wearing one.

After dropping my bag off. I walked around the town. Absolutley riddled with bullet holes. Every building, pole, bit of gutter covered. Was amazing to see. I love going to the places that have history and are something different. I went to what was a really crappy bakery, but the receptionist was a knock out. She didnt speak a word of english so she got her friend to help her out who was even better looking. I was dumbfounded. I was handing over the wrong currency. Then the wrong amount. I couldnt think.

Anyway.... I was only there for one day so i just walked around along the old front line. Its easy to get lost because the place looks like a paintball arena. Its wierd, apparantley the Bosnian croats live on one side and the muslims with on the other. But i cant tell the difference between either and everyone was really friendly. The war they had seems so pointless.

I went to the famous Stari Most bridge. Which was rebuilt after it was blown up. It was still good though. One time i was sitting down eating some wierd garlic chicken thing in a bread roll and i looked next to me to see 100's of bullet holes. Just bizzare. And there was no Mcdonalds, i was shattered. Had to eat only local food.

Once i again i am being bitten by some unknown animal. So back to the apoteka for more treatment yah. Left the next morning back to Croatia. Woke up late and had a 30 minute walk for a bus that was leaving in 15 minutes. Found a taxi who charged me a fortune. The bus was pulling out of the station as i ran up, had exact change. It was meant to be. The bus driver was cacking himself because i was so flustered. (Next bus was at 11) The only thing that sucked was the guy who was spread out over 2 seats and wouldnt move. I recommend going to Bosnia. I just wish I could stay longer.
