Salzburg the home of Mozart and the Sound of music.

I left Vienna and caught a train which cost me 43 Euros!! It only went for a couple of hours too. There were no buses so they could charge whatever they want. I caught the train with my two new found friends. Hyon and Shoko. It had been realised by myself at this time, that Shoko is prounounced as Choco and Her last name is prounounced as Chip. Choc Chip was a logical name. I also had to call Hyon Noonoo Hanu, apparently because she is older than me and thats what is done in Korea.

Anyways i get in for the first time, one of thos trains with the seats in the little cabin in side the wagon. If that makes sense. Like eurotrip. It was just us 3, until this 7 foot tall guy from Bosnia comes in and sits down. I called him the Black and White guy because he was wearing a black suit, with a white t shirt, white belt and crocodile white shoes. He had a really chiseled face as well. He was so 80s. He kept talking like we could understand everything he was saying even though he didnt speak english, and i worked out that he was going to Wales for some reason. Also, for some reason he was trying to explain the entire history of Bosnia. It was one of those nod ur head and smile experiences.

Anyways, we get in find our hostel. Called YOHO, youth hostel something or other. Then head out and explore Salzburg. As has been the norm the last month it rains. All starved, and after talk of different Mcflurries from around the world we decided maccas was needed. The maccas had a fancy sign which i just realised i forgot to take a photo off. Everything had fancy signs anyway. It was basically a m in fancy steel. It cost me 15 oz dollars for 2 cheeseburgers a sunday and coke. Extortion!!. They also have cornetto mcflurrys here.

We took some pictures, went into a church, or maybe mozarts house, walked up the hill to the castle. It was about 15 bucks for entry. Nahh.... tried on some hats. Prob the highlight of the day i must say. Then went back to the hostel and ate the food there. They were smart as they didnt put a kitchen in, so u sort of had to eat there. Salzburg was not cheap for food. My meals during the time i was there consisted of spagehti, wienerschnitzel and more spagehti. Spagehti cost me like 10 bucks!. I keep blowing up about these prices, but hopefully i will get used to them soon. In the morning you could get a massive breakfast with hot choclate and at night in the hostel, i found what i feel is a must in every hostel. The movie room. The first night was spent watching lock stock the next Turner and hooch and the last Shawshank redemtption. And i tell ya, Turner and Hooch!! i forgot how said it was, why does the dog have to die!. I had tears coming from my eyes. I think when ur away from home, things affect you more, and that movie did it to me. I was a shattered unit for a while after that. I just wanted to hug my dogs.

Second day was spent with more wandering around, but it rained again!. We went looking for movies and they were closed, so bummed around because it was raining so much. They were giving away a new coke called coke light, so we kept walking past drinking for free all day. It was the 250th anniversary of mozart, so Salzburg was covered in Mozart souverniers, shows and mozart everything. I said goodbye to Hyon who was going back home and the third day i spent by myself because Choc Chip was heading to Munich for the day. I thought about going but it was a 20 euro journey each way. I headed off to Wolgangammsee. A lake area an hour out of Salzyburg. Headed to the town of St Wolgang. An amayzing little town and a beautiful little lake. But it rained again! So ended up just sitting and watching the rain fall down. Headed back to the hostel and said goodbye to Choc Chip. Ended up spending 3 nights in Salzburg and everyday rain, which sucked but ohh well. Had a good time with a Japanese and a Korean girl trying on hats.
