After a couple of days in Tallinn we headed to a beachy place in Estonia. We headed about an hour away by bus to the coastal town of Vosu. Vosu was a very quiet town. It did have a couple of hostels. We seemed to pick the oldest and dodgiest! But it didnt matter because all we did was use it as a bed. There werent really any other backpackers there just locals on weekend getaways with their families.
The beach was nice, but not a beach by Australian standards! No waves!! It was nice to do nothing and lay in the sun and read. There was pretty much only one place to eat in town called the grill. For some reason all the girls working their were supermodels. So we gladly went there for breakfast lunch and dinner.... of course.... I forgot to mention before that almost everyone in Estonia speaks perfect english. So it sort of defeats the purpose to learn Estonian. The only word i learnt was Tanun. ... Thankyou. Although i barely ever used it.
On our second day in Vosu we decided to hire bikes and ride to a place 7 k's away called Kasmu. It seemed like on the map like this was the "happening" place. We rode there.... Eddie straggling behind with his chicken legs worse than mine!! Kasmu was not happening at all. It turned out Vosu with its Grill was the happening place. We returned our bikes and returned to the beach at Vosu. Eddie and I swam in the icy water and i screamed like a girl. It was more like a dip then a swim... It was a Saturday night and Vosu was going off!! The two night clubs there were packed with Estonians. I decided my clothes were not up to standard to enter this elite venues so i went back to shower, change, etc. I fell asleep. Ohh well... Eddie and Ciaren partied on.
Our last day at Vosu involved catching the bus back and chilling out in Tallinn for the rest of the day with Eddie as he was to stay and fly home the next day. Ciaren and I would be catching the 10 pm bus to Latvia... Not much else to say that cant be explained with a few photos. Estonia is rather a chilled out place.... Nothing to do but chill eat food and walk it off in the beautiful streets. More thumbnails ...
