Ahh Hue. Only stayed one night. But i came here for one thing. The DMZ!! (De militarized Zone).

Hue is a 5 hour bus trip north from Hoi Ann. I fell asleep on this bus. Expected it to be 5 hours. I woke up after 4 hours to realise all the white people werent on the bus anymore and I didnt know where I was. I started to freak out a little bit. Found out I actually was in Hue, an hour early. Found a cool spot to say, 5 bucks a night. A real nice old lady who went out of her way for that 5 dollars. I forgot to say in my last entry, that the people at my hotel new my name after a day. They actually new my name because someone was friends with someone in hotel in Nha Trang and they said I was coming. Its wierd how nice the people are in Vietnam.

The mini city of Hue wasnt too bad Bridge over Hue

. Pretty busy, managed to find the cheapo area alright. Met an Israely couple who I had dinner with. Turns out as with every other Israely ive met so far, they just recently got out of the army. Both men and women have compulsory military service in Israel. The only difference is Women get to choose what area they specialise. All the Israel people seem to finish their 4 years of service then travel, you feel a bit sorry for them because they are only now about to start uni and stuff. 4 years gone.

Did a day tour to the DMZ which is on the west side of the country. About 1.5 hours drive North West from Hue. Saw the old battle sites and stuff, and the old Khe Sahn combat case. Cool to say ive been there. Although all that is left now of a massive base is a small propaganda museum, saying how the americans were terrified at Khe Sahn, and also bits of broken planes and more dead US soldier clothes, id cards and stuff. I dont know why they are like that. You dont see Australia/USA etc saying how crap the germans were in WW2 and how they were so scared and deserved to die. It peeved me off a bit.

Tour was so so, all the old american stuff had been destroyed my the americans when they left, and anything left from that was stolen by the vietnamese and used in buildings and stuff Farmers returning

. Went down in the North Vietnamese tunnels there, not half as small as the ones before. Instead of taking me back to Hue, the bus dropped me off at Dong Ha at some restuarent called Dong Que. 1 hour north of Hue and the east side of the DMZ. Walking down the street it was obvious that they didnt see tourist much. All the families waving and saying hello, one who had a little shop front, where i bought some stuff, asked if i wanted to eat some dinner they made. You dont get that in Oz. As soon as i said i was from Australia, they immedialtley did a soccer kick hehe.

Took the 12 hour night bus that finally arrived to Hanoi... air conditioning which was bloody freezing... until next blog.

Also, Chris Brokeback Castillo you should get back to work... your a bludger.
