Been to Phnom Penh (Capital City) in Cambodia.
Had to cross the border. We all ran completley out of money. The guy at immigration asked about my Passport where I was born. He says where is Darlinghurst, i say Sydney, he says what about Melbourne, I say what about Melbourne, it went on for a few goes.
In Cambodia they drive on the right side of the road. Looks a lot like Vietnam from the movies. Lots of Rice Patties, Water Buffalo, Guys in pointy hats. Theres also lots of poor people, beggers, and lots of blind people, with no arms or legs. Pretty sad.
Lots of children walking around saying "Hello, hello, money" constantly, and there is no Maccas anywhere or anthing western
The road to Phnon Penh is said to be one of the worst in the world. I heard they call it Hell's Highway. It was a nightmare. Pretty much all dirt road, with constant pot holes, lots of river crossings on barges.
Took about 6 - 7 hours.
Was in Phnon Penh for a couple of days, nice place, lots of Tuk Tuks again!! Stayed at a pretty cool hostel, lots of dvd's lots of frat pack movies, Wathced Dodgeball, Old School, Starsky and Hutch, also Eurotrip, some guy there had the same sense of humour as me.
Went to the killing fields where a lot of the genocide of 2 million cambodians occured. Pretty disgusting, a tower of skulls, their clothes still lying half burried in the ground, and leg bones sticking out around where you walked. Went to the prison (S21) where they were all kept and tortured as well. Cambodia is now a nice place with heaps of friendly people, isnt as in your face as Thailand and most people speak english. They also use US dollars which is pretty cool.
Some guy got struck by lightning around the corner from our hostel thingy and died. It poured down and all the roads got flooded as well.
We decided to begin the travelling to Siem Riep
