Total Miles today 368
When I left Chinle this morning heading north the highway was a long ribbon of black extending to the horizon. Things looked so near, yet they were so far. I passed more of the horse and cow caution signs and they were accurate. I passed both grazing on the shoulders of the highway. I was very cautious passing them.
I was headed to the Four Corners Monument. Yeah, I know it was just discovered that the monument is not accurate.
Back in New Mexico and back to seeing oil wells. They are everywhere. And casinos are everywhere out here. I saw three today. Not the big ones that we have back home, very small. But I managed to control myself and passed them by. I had more problems with my ears because the elevations were up to 7,000 feet again.
Next stop was Ghost Ranch just outside of Abiquiu. This was formerly the home of the famous American painter Georgia O’Keefe. You cannot tour her home there, but you can see it across the desert from the museum there.
When I left Abiquiu I noticed that the Sangre de Christo Mountains, just to the south, had SNOW on them. Not what I wanted to see. But checking the forecast for the area, it is still supposed to be nice for a couple more days.
So tomorrow I head in to Santa Fe and try to see some of the things on my list.
Till tomorrow night.

Georgia O'Keefe's House In The Distance
An interesting thing they have there is a display of some of her paintings and a picture of what is in the painting. Very interesting. I love her work and am planning to visit the GOK museum in Santa Fe tomorrow. When I left Abiquiu I noticed that the Sangre de Christo Mountains, just to the south, had SNOW on them.
