18.18 - Right now I can say that I am really pleased with myself. I have successfully completed the 100m abseil that started off The Lost World trip. I was very nervous beforehand but I managed to keep my cool and do it ok. The only problem was the harness I was wearing. It was very uncomfortable on my groin area and by the time I got to the bottom, my left leg had severe pins and needles. The abseil was amazing, mainly because of the scenery all around us. It was truly like being in a lost world. I didn't want to look down and when I took my hands of the road for a picture, I was shitting bricks! Once down, we set off into the cavern where we saw plenty of glow worms whilst we sat to eat our chocolate fish. After another picture break, we had to climb a 30m ladder before we left the cave. The pigeon was let loose with our pics whilst we had to make do with the van. We still beat it back though and we were beginning to think that it had got lost but eventually it turned up. When it did, the pictures were excellent so I had to buy them. I sent them home along with the Tumu Tumu TOObing ones. It is my last night here in Waitomo and I am looking forward to leaving for Hahei I can tell you. I don't get picked up until the afternoon though so I have still got most of the day to kill. I am just going to do my washing now though.

You must trust the ropes...
