17.01 - Sebastian and me were up at 08.00 this morning to catch the shuttle bus to the Wai-O-Tapu thermal wonderland and after a quick breakfast, we were on our way. Before actually entering the park, we saw some boiling mud pools which were pretty cool as was the Lady Knox geyser that reaches heights of up to 15 metres and can be activated by putting soap down the spout! Then it was into the park itself which was amazing. All the colours, formations and landscapes made it look like a different planet. The Champagne Pool in particular was spectacular and I could not stop taking photos. It was like being on the moon. After walking all the paths we got the shuttle bus to take us the 30km back to Rotorua. This afternoon I have spent a lot of time trying to fit the mask I bough into my rucksack but it aint happening so I might have to mail it home. After a quick bite to eat, I checked my e-mails, of which I had a fair few, then I bought a new book. I exchanged my old one for the Green Mile by Stephen King. For tea this evening, we cooked up spaghetti bolognese whick was ok but nothing like Mum's back home. We bought some cheap German beer which was pretty nasty but hey, it was only $5 for a 6 pack. In the evening, we went up to the Lava Bar up the road which was ok but we weren't exactly in a part mood so I tried explaining the rules of rugby to Shiloh which was hard to do but funny. We also had a nice hot spa before we went out.
