19.43 - After an excellent nights sleep, we woke up early again, then, after a few photo's with Uncle Buoy, we got under way. On the journey, we stopped off at a giant kiwi fruit made from steel which you could climb up! We then travelled for another couple of hours until we reached Rotorua where quite a few people got off including myself. We checked into our hostel then we went to grab some lunch. Whilst looking around, we bumped into one of the lads who was on the bus and a friend of his who he had met here. After lunch, the guy offered to take us up to the Skyline Park to do some lugeing. For $30 we got the gondola ride up the hill to get our 5 luge rides. It turned out to be REALLY good fun racing down the these purpose built tracks of different difficulties on a go-kart type thing. We even managed to get a few free goes by sneaking past the ticket collector when he wasn't looking! I forgot to mention, before we checked into the hostel, we went to a Maori village in the middle of a geothermal park. It was quite good to see all the hot water pools although the area stunk of rotting eggs because of the sulphur. The cultural dances and stuff were all pretty shit compared to Uncle Buoy's though. I bought myself a traditional Maori 'face mask' there for $225 which had caught my eye. In the evening, Shiloh cooked us tacos for tea then me, Sebastian and this Israeli bird, as well as Shiloh, went for a drink down at the Echo bar in the centre which belonged to Base Backpackers.
