21.17 - At last I have moved on again and I have left the boredom of Raglan. Although I did not go surfing, I wish now that I had! I have left Raglan a day early so I will have to make the time up here in Waitomo. After getting on the Stray bus at 08.00, we drove for a couple of hours until we arrived in Waitomo. Once there I said bye to the guys on the coach and went to check into the YHA. The rooms were not ready yet so I went to get some breakfast in the village. I can now say that I think it was a mistake to make up my time here as there is hardly anything to do! The village is tiny and they do not even have a proper supermarket. To make it even worse, the dorm rooms at the YHA are $24 - a rip off! After my breakfast, I went to the Waitomo Caves museum which, although small, was quite good. I found out all about the glow worms and cave history but as usual, I have forgotten it all now. Having seen everything, I went to book my caving trip for tomorrow then to stock up on food. When I checked into the Youth Hostel, I found it to be very nice as all the YHA's seem to be. There isn't much to do here though, no video selection etc. Due to this, I spent most of the afternoon reading The Lord Of The Rings with which I have already made rapid progress. I have got some laundry, had my tea then settled down to go to bed. I can't believe I have to stay here until Sunday. I am going to be soooo bored!
