Day 55 - Back To Auckland

21.08 - Well today has been a long day. My Stray bus back to Auckland wasn't due until 17.00 so I had lots of time to kill. I did all the usual shit, a shit shower and shave then checked my e-mails in town. I spent the rest of my time mainly watching TV and hanging around. I didn't bother going to say goodbye to the barmaid in the Saltwater bar, there wasn't much point really, I'll never see her again and I have no chance of pulling her now! When the Stray bus finally came, I was relieved to find that it was pretty full. That didn't make much difference though as no one talked to me and I couldn't be arsed making conversation. Instead I was content to just listen to my music and think. After a quick stop for a McDonalds, we drove into Auckland. The view of the city as we came in was amazing. All the lights made it look impressive and the lit up Sky Tower really finished it off. I wish I had got a picture but I decided not to because I was in a van. I am going to try and get out there again though. I had decided to stay at the Base backpackers as I have heard good reports about it. It was nice but at $23 dollars a night, it was quite expensive. I wasn't up to doing much this evening so after a quick bite to eat, I hit the sack. It was quite funny, the people I was sharing my room with in Paihia were also staying at Base and I bumped into them there. It's a small world! They were going out but I couldn't be arsed joining them. I just wanted to sleep!
