19.26 - Woke up early today, I am back in the routine again. No fire alarm this morning either. I have got a new book at last; Bill Bryson's Notes From A Small Island which is absolutely hilarious so I was quietly chuckling to myself as I read it this morning. Me and my mate (can't remember his name!) decided to go to Russell just across the bay from Paihia but still part of the mainland. It took us 5 mins on the ferry and once there, we decided to go to Long Beach just on the other side of the peninsula. The walk was pretty tough even though the hill wasn't that steep, the weather was nice and hot which made it more difficult. Once there the beach turned out to pretty nice for NZ and I wish I had brough my swimming shorts. Instead we walked along the beach getting molested by a cute puppy dog which got annoying after a while. We then discovered that areas of the beach were unofficially used by nudist which would explain the naked couple soaking up the rays! As there was not much to do here, we went back to Russell (pop 1,100) where we had a bite to eat and then went to the museum. Russell was the first settlement in NZ so there was quite a lot of history but despite this, the museum was small. It was quite interesting though but not really worth $5. From here we went back to Paihia and the Pipi Patch. Since then we have just chilled out, played some cards and watching the Super 12. We plan to go back to the bar again tonight to make full use of the happy hour. In the meantime, I have plenty of postcards to write. I checked my e-mails today but I was a bit disappointed with the lack of replies. I will have to send some reminders out.

Aw...
Don't worry, people will reply as soon as they realize that you are having WAY more fun than they are!
