Punta del este is a really cool little beach town. All the roads are dirt, and all the beach houses are small. It is the off season so it is really quite, which is nice but it also means only a few restaurants are open. Still, I stayed there most of a week. The hostel I stayed at is called El Diablo Tranquillo, and I recomend staying there.
