Spent two days in Chonchi a small town on the east coast of Chiole, before I go back to Puerto Montt to catch the Navimag.

I stated at cool hostel call Esmereda, that was right on the beach. It is fun hanging out in the evening because the sun stay up until about 10pm.

I also got to see a chilean rodeo here. They only had one competition. It envolved two guys on horses hearding one steer around the circle using only the horses. First they would run the steer around the little circle a couple of times, to get a rythm. Then they would open the gates and the team would have to heard the steer along the outside of the ring and turn it around at certian points. They would get points for stopping and turning quickely in the right area, and lose points if the steer got out of thier control. To stop the steer, which was running pretty fast, one cowboy had to tackel it into the wall with his horse. It was interesting.
