Arriving there made me realize how touristic this place was, i didn't really like it. Spent only the end of the day on Patong beach with Oli, JP and some Thai girls but already had in mind to reach Ko Tao to start doing my scuba-diving levels. I left the following day, in a minivan trip where i almost died 10 000 times because of the worse driver on earth ! Then stopped at Surrathani by the sea on the east coast to wait for the boat to Ko Tao. My lucky star was along my side again, when i started to talk to this random guy who travelled in the same minivan, and he happened to be a scuba-diving instructor, working on Ko Tao for 2 years already ! Not that i felt lucky, but you have to admit it, no ? I could have met just a diver like me who would have shared the same passion but no, he was an instructor and when he had known that i wanted to do my scuba-diving levels, he made a quick phone call and i found myself booked in one of the best scuba-diving center of Ko Tao, "Scuba Junction" on the west coast of the island, and a bungalow booked too
I spent the next 2 weeks going through "Open water level" to "Advanced" to reach "PADI Rescue Diver". I had so much fun diving there, as the water is beautiful and the people too. I met nice people there, i'd like to name a few that i had great time with: Jean-Philippe, Antoine and Julie from Quebec, Raphael from Switzerland, Rikke from Danemark, Francesco from Italy and Wanja from Germany. The "Scuba Junction" team has been so cool, with mister "K' at his head that i'll probably see again in december while doing my "Dive Master" course.
When i went back to Australia on the 31st of May, i found myself completely disorientated, as i was so comfortable and my body was in use with the Thai climate and food. I can't wait to go back...
