After talking to Christina and Kyle and hearing amazing stories about Cambodia, I have decided to extend my stay in South East Asia by 4 days and do a solo trek to Cambodia. Spent the morning trying to change my flights and organise my detour to Cambodia. I went to Japan Airlines, American Airlines and finally Qantas. All on the back of a motorbike so I managed to see some sights of Hanoi in between each place.
One motorbike driver tried to make conversation with me, while I was freaking out as he kept running red lights and swerving to narrowly miss a bus or bike.
Mel and I had a yummy lunch in the Old Quarter and spent the day strolling the streets.
We found our way in a food market and reconfirmed all the reasons why I will not eat meat in South East Asia. Enough said on that.
IMPRESSION: Vietnamese people are not overly friendly. They are difficult to bargain. And they seem to argue with each other when they talk. It must be a cultural thing because then they will turn around and apologise madly and be really nice.
