Mel arrived in Japan at 11am after 30 hours of travelling. Of course she was severely jet lagged so we spent a lazy day resting at Owen's apartment.

Went to dinner with Owen to eat ramen noodles - delicious!! And as it is Japanese manners to slurp your noodles loudly to show your appreciation - Owen, Mel and I loudly slurped away.

After dinner Mel and I met up with Richard (Hikaru's friend). We were supposed to meet at Hatchicu - a famous statue of a dog. Of course we got lost. After 1/2 an hour we gave up and called Richard from a pay phone. I miss my mobile phone. Richard took us to a French cafe for coffee in Shimbuya. We met his friends Kerrie (from Adelaide) and Rob (from UK). We all headed off to a night club called Air. A funky underground club where Ministry of Sound were playing. The club was featured in the movie Lost in Translation.

Danced the night away to house/dance music. The Japanese people are crazy but really friendly. Had heaps of fun. Everyone was high on something except for Mel and I. Mel was so tired she slept on the couch. But she didn't seem out of place as lots of people were sprawled out asleep. Bought beer from a vending machine. Don't really like beer, but was fun to buy it from a vending machine.

We stayed over at Richard's place. Got there at 5am!! Mel and I crashed onto the futons in the lounge. Slept for 3 1/2 hours. So tired!! But we had to climb Mount Fuji!!
