On Tuesday Stu and I spent the whole day white water rafting the Nile, 10 large rapids grade 3-5, the boat was flipped 4times. Great fun. On the smaller rapids we'd leap off the boat and float down the river, lovely. Only 2moments of concern...On one grade 5 our boat was the only one to go down the waterfall, except that we got stuck, wedged between the rocks, hanging off it 3m up. Our guide, Jeffrey, no1, kayaker in Uganda and been to Sydney Olympics goes 'ah...now we have to bounce!!' so we stood up jumped around until we got shifted! Whoosh!
The second was the last time the boat flipped think i was about the first out of the boat, which meant the boat, all its occupants and paddles were on top of me for what felt like years. By the time i came up 2rescue kayakers were paddling for me! Great fun.
A fantastic day, such a rush and relieved to get home with no injuries, and free beers on the trip home!
