Had the best day ever!!! Possibly, although in the spirit of Jess that is a big claim but sure i will be making some more big claims so view it in the spirit of it was a grreat day! In morning I was picked up and went with 5 others, all of us with bad hangovers (too much fun on the all inclusive booze cruise on the Zambezi the night before) and me declaring i would definately be sick before the day was out (everyones favourite travel companion) we went to a gorge 1km down from Vic Falls and spent the morning abseiling, zip lining, flying foxing (i'll explain when i get back...bit like a zip line but can do superman impressions when u run off the cliff!) and best of all GORGE SWINGING!! Was so cool although hated abseiling. The guy got me over the top whilst all i said was 'i dont wanna do it... i dont wanna.. i cant...help' repeatedly much to everyones amusement (its been quoted at me non stop since!) and didn't really enjoy it but got down the 60m or so without losing it completely!!
Best was the gorge swing...loved it! It involves leaping off the gorge edge, 55m free fall (60m gorge) going at 120mph and just before you hit the ground the free fall ends and you swing over the gorge for 5mins! Did it first in a tandem which is faster but less scary. In tandem i was busted having knocking knees and with my eyes shut but as soon as you know you are ok the andreniline pumps and i loved it so legged it back out the gorge to have another go!! The next time as soon as i was harnessed up and double checked i had nearly jumped off before he counted to 3 (best just to get it over with!!).
What a morning....but then back had lunch then went to Livingstone airport! Did a flight in a 3man plane for 30mins over Vic Falls and the gorges. Was sooooo spectacular and only a little bumpy (a few close calls but wasn't sick!!). Definately the smallest and maybe the oldest plane i had ever seen but the falls are absolutely breathtaking and a very smooth landing afterwards! I think i spent all day yesterday shaking or buzzing full of adreniline but was absolutely fantastic and completed with a nice african meal out..aka steak and chips with the 23others on my truck before the group split- half to nairobi and half to Cape town at 6.30am this morning.
